Jacob sent an email a few day ago regarding https://torah.social, the new social media and open Torah website. The https://bneimoshe.com website was originally to replace Wordpress (again) but the last minute decision (after Jacob's email) was changed so that the social media network would remain, but go through some changes. Here's Jacob's summary of the differences at https://torah.social: "The Bnei Moshe site run by Troy will continue to exist as a Samaritan-type community. Torah.Social will essentially pick up where Bnei Moshe had left off prior and will emphasize adherence to Torah textual views regardless of any particular tradition. This is my understanding of the situation for now." Essentially the reason for the split is a two part decision: 1) I prefer to favor a particular "Neo-Samaritan" community, and 2) a number of calendar issues stand in the way of the Samaritan calendar, which resolves the issue by accepting only Samaritan leaning membership and the calendar (minus the March 25 error which can be read at https://bneimoshe.com/blogs/20/The-Hebrew-Calendar) The torah.social website has the full membership, but bneimoshe.com has removed all members that: 1. Are messianic or christian or listed other than Torah Only known to be "Neo-Samaritan". 2. Did not activate a few profiles or banned for obvious spam posts. We now have some membership from long term Samaritan leaning members, as well as a number of unknown members who are Torah Only or a few members who are active and simply unknown about the acceptance of the Samaritan calendar as a community. I will soon create a post to inquire about a Samaritan leaning community who accepts our calendar as the terms of feast days. Once that is decided over a period of time, other members will continue to be active on torah.social, but not on bneimoshe.com.
